Position: Project Control Coordinator - PHAI
Duration: 1 year
Location: Working remote with visits to Port Hope 2-4 times/month.
Start Date: Upon Security Clearance
Resumes due by November 25 at 1PM.
Scope Management: - Coordinate the scope definition and prepare the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) - Coordinate and control changes to scope, time and cost and ensure related approvals and configuration management documentation are in place before baselines are adjusted
Schedule Management: - Integrate the full scope and budget and coordinate the resource and cost loading of schedules - Analyze the assigned schedule performance of PHAI projects to determine variances, monitor trends, recommend improvements, take corrective actions and implement changes - Conduct Critical Path analyses with project team and recommend corrective actions or solutions or deviation
Cost Management: - Coordinate with the PHAI Cost team in order to analyze and obtain actual cost expenditure information to measure project progress performance using Earned Value Analysis - Support PHAI Cost team in the cost estimating and budgeting processes when required - Prepare and submit project accruals
Risk Management: - Work closely and effectively with Program Office personnel responsible for change management and risk functions - Coordinate the production and maintenance of risk registers
General Coordination: - Work closely with the individual PCC in the preparation and maintenance of Project baselines and/or working project schedules, and report/control of schedule changes - Support Project Controls team in the planning and control framework, including definition of the hierarchies, coding and account structures required for tracking, analysis and performance measurement - Prepare tools, templates, and procedures related to project planning; assuming leadership role within peer working groups - Arrange, participate, or chair project review meetings and make presentations of project information - Prepare Monthly Project Report (MPR) and other various performance reports and review/present with various members of the management team
- Ensure project documents are filed in ATOM/document control and supporting databases (e.g., SharePoint) as required
Subcontractors Engagement: - Initiate Purchase Requisitions, prepare supporting documents (Briefing note, PR check list), follow-up the approval process- - Verify the legitimacy of contractor changes, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions - Receive progress update from contractor and project team and update current schedules - Work with Contracting Services to amend Purchase Orders, when required - Work with contractors & consultants on to assess their construction schedule and ensure alignment where possible with the approved project baselines
Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited school and a minimum of - 4-6 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management - Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and processes, as recognized by the - Project Management Institute (PMI), and a proven ability to apply this knowledge in the project - control of large and complex undertakings, especially those related to scope, schedule, cost, risk, and - change control - Designation as Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable - Formal Project Management training would be an asset - Advanced-intermediate level capability in the development of project schedules - Proven ability to conduct variance analysis on schedule and cost performance - Knowledge of Earned Value Analysis - Working knowledge of the computer-based applications used for project management purposes - (i.e., Primavera or Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.) - Project cost management experience - Project risk management experience and/or knowledge would be a strong asset - Strong awareness of safety - Good organizational and planning skills. Well-developed ability to assess requirements, set - priorities, define action plans, and meet deadlines within a dynamic project environment - Good interpersonal skills.
