Job Title: Assembly & Installation Fitter Main Function:
- Assemble and install components into deployable shelters.
- Assist other departments including Paint / Prep, Stock Keepers, as required.
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Duties:
- Install components into deployable shelters
- Assist other departments including Paint / Prep, Stock Keepers, as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Provide suggestions and input to resolve any unexpected issues or challenges.
- Fitting of machined parts, sheet metal brackets, pipework, pumps, valves, and wiring to deployable shelters using hand and power tools.
- Recording of materials used and time taken on Job Cards and on the electronic job tracking system
- Ability to follow work instructions and read schematic drawings
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime, when required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Employment Requirements:
- Previous experience in an assembly environment where quality and schedule compliance were key.
- The ability to accurately interpret and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with various other stakeholders.
- Minimum two years in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED
- Must be eligible to meet requirements of export control and security regulations including Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
