ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and supervise staff performing radiation shielding calculations and develop basic computer models to assess hazard profiles
- Maintain an accurate accounting of dose accumulation by Job, Task and Individual.
- Prepare and review ALARA plans including planned and abnormal or upset conditions
- Review design descriptions, details and recommend worker dose reduction strategies
- Manage the Radiation Protection Program in partnership with the License Holder on behalf of the business
- All other duties as assigned by the functional management
- Experience in generating key performance indicator and establish rigorous reporting protocols that meet all requirements of the contract, corporate standards, and site-specific protocols
- Work in partnership with Facilities and Project Management in Sheridan Park and Montecourte to ensure safe outcomes and quality work environment
- Provide clear expectations and performance measures, meaningful feedback, and recognize and reward achievements.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience is managing and supervising nuclear professionals and crafts in a leadership role.
- Experience in supervising professional staff
- Excellent organizational, oral- and written-communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Undergraduate degree in Health Physics or equivalent.
- Experience in dealing with a large organization to address broad scope radiation safety needs
- Experience in applying high radiation safety standards expected in the nuclear power plants
- Effective communication of the radiation safety compliance requirements to the organization.
- Ability to effectively address worker radiation safety concerns by explaining program application requirements and safety principles.
- Experience in overseas material shipment is considered an asset.
- Ability to support and manage positive working environment for the team and relevant stakeholders
- Ability to expand a strong team through recruiting, interviewing, and/or selecting staff with the appropriate skills and establishing training and development to support project execution.
