We are currently looking for an Aviation Project Lead Engineer to join our team! You will be joining a company that is the world’s premier provider of solutions for the business of aviation. They provide innovative technology solutions to some of the world’s largest organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and forecasting of the engineering aspects of a project including preparing engineering estimates and development plans.
- Execute the engineering development plan and provide technical leadership of engineering project team.
- Maintain the engineering work standards and processes.
- Ongoing evaluation of technical risk, mitigation, and contingency.
- Liaison with key stakeholders in the design process; including but not limited to technical team members (hardware, embedded software, systems), internal company stakeholders (Sales, Program Management), design approval representatives, Transport Canada, customers, external program managers, sub-contractors.
- Engineering status reporting to stakeholders.
- Assist with development of compliance documentation including certification plans, system safety assessments, equipment qualification reports, certification test plans, etc.
- Complete technical reviews of the project team’s deliverables to ensure designs and documents are complete, correct, conform to company & industry standards, and meet the requirements of the project and systems requirements.
- Provide system integration, troubleshooting and support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Systems Engineer with 5-7 years’ experience in aerospace development projects/programs.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in hardware or software design in the field of avionics products using development process and designing to quality standards (such as RTCA/DO-254, DO-160, DO-178C).
- Engineering Degree from an accredited University (Aerospace, Avionics, Computer or Electrical) or equivalent industry experience.
- Technical leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated technical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Adept at requirements analysis.
- Understanding of electrical, embedded software & avionics principles.
- Must be capable of complete project documentation and assistance in certification efforts, as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project and product lifecycle.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Professional Engineer designation or eligibility is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of FAA TSO, FARs, AC and STC regulations and procedures an asset.
- Experience in cybersecurity DO-326A is considered an asset.
- Experience in satellite communications considered an asset.
