Job Overview
- Work as part of cross-functional team, influencing others while providing support and direction on various talent management programs including: Leadership and Employee Development, Assessments and Coaching, Performance Management, Knowledge Management, and Learning Programs;
- Partner with business leaders and human resources to understand business needs, anticipate talent management program requirements and develop solutions to ensure business challenges are addressed through development programs;
- Conduct market analysis, design, develop, and support talent management programs and projects;
- Facilitate and implement talent programs, including leading workshops and learning sessions with the business;
- Create, implement and monitor communications and program schedules for business leaders, employees and Human Resources Business Partners;
- Partner with business leaders and Human Resources Business Partners to ensure the successful execution and tracking of employee performance management and leadership development programs. Provide updates on progress, risks and completion requirements;
- Conduct evaluations on effectiveness and awareness of programs used to support employee career and leadership development and recommend improvements;
- Ensure that OPG's employee programs align with OPG's strategic imperatives, applying analytical and technical skills to measure outcomes; including extracting data from HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors;
- Generate and prepare reports and data visualizations of key program metrics, including the analysis of current/historical trends to propose programs for the future;
- Utilize technology and web applications to create compelling talent management and communications, presentations and program materials;
- Support the development of integrated change management plans
- Integrate and collaborate with other business functions and stakeholders (for example; Corporate Relations and Communications, Learning and Development); and
- Actively assist business leaders with methods to promote and reinforce behaviours to support change adoption.
Qualifications
- University Degree is required, preferred with specialization in Human Resources, Talent Management, or Organizational Development; and
- Certified Human Resources designation (CHRP - Certified Human Resources Professional, CHRL - Certified Human Resources Leader, CPLP - Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, or CTMP - Certified Talent Management Practitioner) is an asset.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive and relevant organizational development experience, effectively implementing talent and managing business change initiatives for a complex organization;
- Requires knowledge of human resources management, organization development, business, organization design, change management, process engineering, and talent management;
- Strong business orientation with a commitment to finding ways to deliver added value to the business;
- Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong facilitation, negotiation, consultation, education, influencing and presentation skill to ensure we gain buy-in and commitment for talent programs from the business and our employees;
- Sound critical thinking, demonstrated experience in building and executing strategies and providing overall change consultation and direction to the business and leadership;
- Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills, must be able to provide solutions, ideas and recommendations through effective issue resolution;
- Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience in building, shaping and maintaining productive relationships and strong partnerships across business units and among a wide variety of stakeholders and executives across the organization;
- Broad conceptual, diagnostic and analytical skills; ability to reach well grounded, independent conclusions and influence outcomes directly and through a team of resources;
- Proven track record on delivering results, and the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment while effectively managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities;
- Ability to quickly understand business processes, their risk implications and analyze complex situations to reach appropriate conclusions;
- Energetic and self-motived individual that takes initiative and has a strong passion and desire to succeed;
- Exceptional project management, organizational and decision making skills to execute time sensitive deliverables and effectively manage several projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment;
- A quick learner, ability to break down complex technical ideas. Must be able to effectively navigate a complex organizational structure;
- Ability to design and develop communications tactics and tools to support program and initiative goals;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook);
- Proficiency with HR talent systems such as Success Factors and SAP; and
- Ideally looking for a candidate with experience working with a similar size and structured organization to OPG, would be an asset to have industry experience in utilities, energy, manufacturing, financial services or public sector.
