Oversee and direct the activities of the Quality Inspectors and administrative assistant. Schedule additional work hours for direct report. Apply disciplinary actions when required and schedule and interface with government source inspectors. Review and interpret blueprints, product specifications and industry/commercial standards to assure that products meet their specified requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and direct the activities of the quality inspectors and administrative assistant.
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the Quality department personnel and identify areas for improvements, training and professional development.
- Review all First Article Inspection documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to customer submittal.
- Inspect products using gages, CMM, scales and visuals.
- Maintain the gage calibration system and all activities related to gage calibration.
- Conduct and document second level inspections of key characteristics.
- Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
- Schedule, prepare for and lead Source Inspection.
- Maintain and control MRB materials and areas.
- Participate in Quality Standowns.
- Perform work station audits.
- Assure that all necessary Quality documentation is available and accurate by communicating requirements to the Quality Engineer.
- Maintain open and frequent communications with department leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department leadership.

Education
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
Experience
Three to five years experience in a Quality role in an aerospace environment performing similar products/processes; one to two years in a supervisory position.
Previous experience in Quality Control in a machining environment is preferred. Competency in the use of precision gauging and CMM equipment is required. This position requires the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, product specifications and industry/commercial standards. This position requires good communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively work with others towards a common goal.
