Role: Occupational Health and Safety Officer
Contract Duration: 12 months
Work Location: Chalk River, ON or Port Hope, ON (Candidate choice) - 50% working in office and working from home

Key responsibilities:

• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) as a Safety Advisor to the Whiteshell Laboratories Closure Project (WLCP) OSH Department and oversite of the WLCP projects. This will be a full time assignment on location at the WLCP. Support will include the performance of deliverables listed below in this Task Order.

• Deliverables:

• The Staff Augmented Safety Advisor Representative will report to the WL OSH Manager. This role will provide industry expertise.

• Specific deliverables associated with the position include:

• a. The Safety Advisor will provide OSH support to WLCP Field Work Activities.

• b. Provide mentorship to the WL OSH Specialists and the WL OSH Section Head

• c. Perform document review and document writing as required.

• d. Support WL OSH initiatives.

• e. Perform OSH related classroom and practical training to WLCP staff as required.

• A monthly report will be provided to the WL OSH Manager.

• Additional Oversight support related activities as determined by the WL OSH Manager. This may include activities such as field work outside of the deliverables set out above.
