· Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of all Environmental, Health and Safety programs for the facility in accordance with federal, state and municipal legislation and corporate requirements.
· Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and strategies for environmental and occupational health and safety regulatory compliance, including legal monitoring and maintenance of permits and authorizations.
· Coordinate and liaise with government agencies (e.g., US EPA, Ohio EPA, City of Strongsville, OSHA) including compiling, preparing, and submitting periodic reports such as Tier-2, TRI, Non-Title V, waste, and Permit Evaluation Reports.
· Perform periodic inspections such as daily routine verifications, weekly Gemba walk inspections and monthly environmental compliance inspections according to corporate requirements and support the annual environmental compliance and health and safety audit process.
· Ensure that EHS incident investigations and reports are prepared in a timely manner with an emphasis on identifying root causes and ensuring effective closure of corrective actions.
· Actively participate in monthly meetings of the global Designated Environmental Officers and periodic meetings of the health and safety representatives of all sites.
· Provide and/or coordinate all required E and H&S training for site staff on various subjects such as SPCC, SWPPP, emergency prevention and response, confined space, LOTO, hazardous waste minimisation, and transport of dangerous goods.
· Support and develop initiatives to improve the ecological footprint of operations such as GHG reductions, water conservation, waste minimisation, pollution prevention, etc.
· Assume end-to-end responsibility for contracts for environmental services and collection of residual materials including regulated RCRA hazardous waste.
· Ensure timely, effective, and collaborative communications with the corporate environmental team on all environmental issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree in Environment or related science
· 5 -10 years' experience in a similar position
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
