Position: Intermediate and Senior Electrical Engineers – 7 to 15+ years of experience
Project: Underground Gold Mine & Mill Processing Facility
Location: Kirland Lake, ON
Duration: 1 to 3 years
Work Schedule: Option 1 – Site: 4 days in/3 days out (10 hour days); or Option 2 – Site: 8 days in/6 days out (10 hour days)
Electrical Engineer:
Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects you will be part of the Projects Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Companies values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Assist the Capital Projects Manager with the execution of the capital Projects (Electrical) portfolio;
- Collaborate and manage engineering firms to complete detailed engineering for projects;
- Participate in constructability and design reviews including drawings, P&IDs, project instructions and specifications;
- Provide technical resource to site electrical infrastructure projects;
- Provide input and support to the construction team during execution;
- Lead site-based capital projects throughout the project development process;
- In collaboration with the project sponsors, develop business cases, conceptual ideas, project scopes, technical feasibility reviews;
- Develop project estimates, prepare and submit Application for Expenditures requests;
- Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and assist with general contracts management;
- Lead the development of project schedules in alignment with the business requirements;
- In collaboration with the Projects Cost Controller, manage project costs, review actuals to date provide forecasts, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget.
What You Need To Succeed
- Post-secondary education in engineering – electrical;
- 10+ years of experience in mine electrical projects including infrastructure, power transmission, substations, medium to high voltage equipment, large battery storage, etc;
- P. Eng designation;
- PMP designation is considered an asset;
- A good knowledge of Ontario energy and power systems is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of the mining and construction regulations;
- Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3, 4/3, 8/6 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
