Job Title: Electrical / Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Assessor
Location: Pickering, ON – Refurbishment Project
Contract Type: Hourly Contractor
Rate: $70–$80/hour
Job Overview:
We are currently hiring two (2) Electrical / Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Assessors to support the Pickering Refurbishment Project. These roles are suited for experienced Control Technicians, I&C Technicians, or Electricians with a background in shift operations and a strong understanding of nuclear plant standards, particularly AS9. The successful candidates will provide field-level support and assessment of electrical and instrumentation work activities, helping ensure safe, compliant, and effective execution of refurbishment tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical field support and oversight for electrical and I&C refurbishment work.

Assess technician readiness, field performance, and work package clarity related to control systems, instrumentation, and electrical circuits.

Support development and/or review of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring alignment with project standards.

Act as a knowledgeable resource for interpreting AS9 procedures, drawings, and system documentation.

Collaborate with field maintainers and supervisors to validate the scope of work, confirm proper installation practices, and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Assist in validating pre-job briefs, equipment configuration, and control logic alignment.
Qualifications:

Licensed Electrician, Instrumentation & Control Technician, or equivalent trade/technical certification.

Experience as a Shift Control Technician or similar role in a nuclear plant environment.

Strong working knowledge of electrical and I&C systems, field wiring, logic systems, instrumentation calibration, and controls.

Familiarity with AS9 standards, work planning processes, and refurbishment environments.

Proven ability to read and interpret schematics, control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Additional Assets (Nice to Have):

Prior experience working at OPG facilities (Pickering, Darlington, Bruce).

Experience supporting ITP preparation and execution in a nuclear or industrial setting.
