Role Summary:
The Lead Engineer - Configuration Management will be responsible for execution in support of project-based data and engineering change control activities. The role applies documentation and data control processes and procedures that support quality program requirements and project delivery requirements for commercial nuclear power plants. The role provides project support and controls and manages design process data with engineering software tools.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Support the review, preparation, delivery, and checking of data, documentation, & engineering changes per documented procedures and governing regulatory authorities and standards
• Coordinate with cross-departmental / functional staff and support / initiate related
communications as required to complete assigned tasks
• Support configuration and data related activities. i.e., change task execution and checking functions, number assignments, data gathering for reports, creation of media, maintain delivery logs, documentation preparation and analysis, and access and utilize portals and tools as needed
• Adhere to configuration & data related procedures and policies throughout a program /
product lifecycle
• Support Customer / Regulatory Authority Audits on an as-required basis
• Support activities relative to configuration & data related projects and productivity initiatives
• Have familiarity of commonly used configuration, data, and export control concepts, practices, and procedures
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Work within a diverse team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success
• Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures
• Support GEH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, and initiating and responding to Corrective Actions
• Provide on-time, quality delivery of documentation packages in accordance with contract
requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering or configuration management position
Additional Desired Characteristics
- CM certification (CMII, CMPIC, etc.)
- Experience in a role interfacing with customers, regulators and/or suppliers
- Working knowledge of codes, standards & regulations related to nuclear power plants
- Knowledge of and experience with Configuration Management
- Knowledge of and experience with engineering design and collaboration tools such as Enovia, DOORS NextGen, Documentum, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Quick learner, able to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships
- Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, and customers
- Experience with GE documentation system, practices, and requirements
- Detail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignments
