Owners Engineer - Mechanical
The Mechanical Engineer, will play a critical role in overseeing the design, construction, and operation of mechanical systems within nuclear power plants. This role requires a deep understanding of nuclear power plant operations, mechanical engineering principles, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the owner and various stakeholders, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight and Management:
- Oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of mechanical systems in nuclear power plants.
- Ensure that all mechanical engineering activities comply with regulatory and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise on mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other critical components.
- Review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Conduct technical evaluations and risk assessments.
- Ensure the integration of mechanical systems with other plant systems and processes.

Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs for mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Review and approve testing and commissioning procedures.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation and reports.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry best practices.

Communication and Collaboration:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the owner and contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and key issues
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in the nuclear power industry.
- Experience in project management and oversight of large-scale industrial projects.
