Project Manager
Location: San Jose/Bay Area, California
Contract - 12 months
Role & Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Strategy
o Provide strategic leadership in a matrixed environment, driving alignment across engineering, construction, procurement, and client teams.
o Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes across Data Centers, Transmission, and Substation builds.
· Full Lifecycle Project Management
o Oversee Initiation, Planning, Execution, and Close-out phases.
o Define project WBS, Cost Baseline, and OBS structures, and ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
o Monitor and control scope, schedule, budget, and risk using industry best practices and performance indicators (SPI, CPI).
· Stakeholder & Communication Management
o Serve as the primary interface between clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
o Lead regular project reporting and stakeholder updates, ensuring transparency, accountability, and issue resolution.
Team & Vendor Coordination
o Manage cross-functional project teams and third-party contractors, removing barriers to execution and fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
o Provide oversight on construction and commissioning activities, ensuring delivery to scope and safety standards.
· Governance & Compliance
o Implement and enforce Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards across all phases.
o Ensure adherence to permitting, regulatory, and interconnection requirements, including those related to DOE or utility funding.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (required).
· 5–10 years of proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects in Transmission, Substation, or Power Generation (Gas, Hydro, or Renewables).
· Experience managing Data Center construction or mission-critical facilities is highly valued.
· Strong working knowledge of project controls, risk management, and earned value management.
· Familiarity with DOE-funded project requirements and reporting practices.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other project management tools.
· PMP certification or P.Eng license preferred (or in progress).
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
