Reports To: Site Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor
Type: Contract – Night Shift (Approx. 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM, 6 days/week)
Contract Length: 2–3 months
Estimated Pay Rate: $55–$65/hour
Role Summary
The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the company’s Health & Safety policies and programs to ensure safe working practices across all company work sites and facilities.

Core Responsibilities
-
Implement and oversee the site safety program through continuous on-site monitoring.

Advise management on all health and safety (H&S) related matters.

Liaise with management and labour to maintain due diligence on safety standards.

Conduct and attend on-site safety meetings.

Provide H&S training, including orientations, WHMIS, and site-specific training.

May chair or co-chair Health & Safety Committee.

Investigate incidents and H&S complaints, including lost-time injuries.

Complete WSIB documentation and manage return-to-work and light-duty programs.

Perform weekly site inspections and monthly safety audits.

Maintain safety logs and records for compliance, tracking, and reporting.

Generate and submit H&S statistics and reports to the EH&S Manager.

Ensure compliance with OHSA and other applicable legislation.

Promote a zero-tolerance policy for workplace safety infractions.

Support ISO 18001 and 14001 standards implementation and monitoring.

Notify management of any issues that may pose a risk to worker safety or project execution.

Successful completion of background/security clearance.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
-
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred
-
CSAO certification (Ontario)
-
CRSP designation (preferred)
-
Certified H&S Trainer
-
Valid CPR & First Aid certification
-
Training in WHMIS, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and TDG
Experience & Skills:

5–10 years of experience in a construction-based safety supervisory role

Experience developing and managing modified/light-duty return-to-work programs
-
Familiarity with WSIB claims management and adjudication
-
Strong working knowledge of OHSA, WSIB, and safety regulations for construction/industrial sites
