Job Title: Staff Aircraft SIL/HIL Simulation Engineer
Location: Laval, QC (Hybrid)
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Staff Aircraft SIL/HIL Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Staff Aircraft SIL/HIL Simulation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate simulation of aircraft systems to facilitate software testing and development activities. This position involves supporting real-time Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and Simulation-Time Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) simulations, as well as avionics hardware and embedded software development and certification activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Simulation Modeling team and internal groups/IPTs to understand and fulfill their requirements regarding Aircraft SIL/HIL simulations.
- Collaborate with the Simulation Modeling team to develop and prioritize backlog items, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders' needs.
- Contribute to the cultivation and enhancement of departmental expertise in Aircraft SIL/HIL simulations.
- Assist in defining and meeting long-term simulation requirements for the simulation platform.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in dynamic system modeling, working with HIL/SIL simulations and test environments.
- Proficiency in C++ 11, Matlab/Simulink, and Python.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and debugging aircraft protocols at the bit level.
- Familiarity with three-dimensional dynamics concepts and experience developing in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong software architecture design and development skills, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in modern C++ (17 forward) and familiarity with Simulink Autocode.
- Experience with CMake, FMI, and protocol buffers.
- Prior exposure to DO-178, DO-254, or similar certification standards.
- Experience with the design, development, test, and certification of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs).
