Director of Business Development
Location: North Shore, QC or Ottawa, ON
What You Will Do
As Director of Business Development (BD), you will develop growth strategies and lead and execute capture and pursuit activities to ensure the future health of the company, with a particular focus on military airborne C4ISR solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, developing, and pursuing opportunities for business growth to meet or exceed annual financial targets.
- Contributing to a strong BD pipeline and business backlog in core and adjacent markets.
- Supporting Program staff to maintain and expand their programs with respective customers.
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- Organizing and leading capture teams through the capture process, including BD-related colour teams.
- Leading capture planning, win strategy, and teaming activities to increase probability of success.
- Securing buy-in from internal stakeholders and senior management for opportunities.
- Promoting the company’s reputation and brand at tradeshows, conferences, publications, and meetings.
- Assisting in setting BD performance targets and achieving them.
- Maintaining CRM databases and other IT tools with BD Operations.
- Collaborating with Marketing & Communications, Engineering, and other departments to prioritize investments and prepare for market success.
- Promoting collaboration across divisions and sectors.
- Exemplifying company values and ethics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the Aerospace or Defence sector.
- Fluent in English (French is an asset).
- Preference for military airborne C4ISR experience.
- Preference for prior BD experience with large-scale and complex bids.
- Must be able to work in North Shore, QC or Ottawa, ON.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
