Job Title: Drafter in Ornamental and Structural Steel
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Draft detailed workshop plans for structural steel and ornamental metals.
- Interpret and understand plans provided by project architects and engineers.
- Maintain knowledge of drawing standards and norms for structural steel, ornamental metals, and welding.
- Design and create workshop drawings for the fabrication of structural steel and ornamental metals, including stairs, assemblies, individual parts, and erection plans.
- Implement necessary changes to drawings based on feedback from project managers, engineers, and architects (both internal and external) and ensure follow-up.
- Determine the list of materials, bolts, and cut lists required for fabrication.
- Conduct take-offs and assist in the preparation of project bids.
- Provide assistance in measuring and confirming dimensions on-site as needed.

- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in building drafting or equivalent education.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in reading structural and architectural plans.
- Excellent command of AutoCAD software.
- Knowledge of Revit and BIM is an asset.
- Experience in preparing drawings for laser cutting is an asset.
