Job Description
Purpose of the position:
To oversee and manage the new Marshall Skills Academy earn as you learn programs being developed and launched in New Brunswick. They will work in partnership with a local college and university on a range of new ‘earn as you learn’ training programs across Saint John, Moncton and the wider province related to engineering and manufacturing.
The role will involve a high level of project management, program management, stakeholder management, recruitment, high school, college and community outreach activity, quality assurance and reporting.
This role will work closely with local government, partner organizations, local employers, educational institutions and the wider community within the province.
Responsibilities:
Take overall project management responsibility for set up and delivery of 4 new training programs in partnership with a local college and university.
Develop and manage a high school and community outreach strategy.
Work with marketing teams to establish a marketing and communications plan for the programs.
Recruit and maintain relationships with local employers to participate in the training programs by employing participants taking part in the programs.
Be the point of contact for all key stakeholders in the province for Marshall Skills Academy including attendance at events.
Work closely with the UK Marshall Skills Academy team to build the Marshall Skills Academy Canada presence in New Brunswick.
Lead on the recruitment process for participants onto the training programs.
Develop and oversee quality assurance processes and reporting on the success of the programs. Bring together key stakeholders related to marketing, commercial, course delivery, outreach, finance and enrolment across the Marshall Skills Academy, college and university.
Tasks:
Project manage the setup, design and implementation of the training programs.
Oversee and manage the program delivery once set up ensuring all parties are up to date and working together to deliver for the employers and the province.
Manage the design and set up of marketing materials and communications in partnership with marketing teams.
Work with provincial government departments and organizations to ensure programs are meeting the needs of the province.
Liaise with all employer partners and manage the relationships throughout every phase of the program.
Design and set up a high school, college and community outreach program to enable the recruitment of participants seeking support from education and employer partners when appropriate.
Attend all events including industry conferences, high school, college, military and community careers fairs.
Work with local organizations involved with indigenous community engagement and help to ensure the programs have input from an early stage.
Design and manage the recruitment process with input from key stakeholders ensuring we are recruiting to the needs of the employers whilst also meeting enrolment requirements for the college and university.
Manage and implement tools to gather participant and employer feedback throughout the programs.
Develop quarterly reporting in partnership with the college and university to demonstrate successes of the program.
Assist employers with embedding the programs into their operations and set out clear expectations around the role of Marshall Skills Academy, the college/university, the employer and the participant.
Work with the college and university to build a simple structure for participants to record their learning and development of competence that they will gain from their time in the workplace. Manage day to day queries and requests for information related to the programs.
Design and manage a 6 week residential settling in program for international participants coming into New Brunswick/ Canada.
Project manage program inductions in partnership with the college and university for each new intake.

Understanding of the political, economical and social landscape of New Brunswick Understanding of apprenticeship offering in Canada Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
Education:
Post-secondary education.
Training or education related to project management, manufacturing, engineering
Experience:
3+ years of experience in project and/or program management or experience of setting up and managing trainee development programs.
Management of projects with multiple requirements, dependencies, and stakeholders.
Ability to identify new ways of doing things and helping others to understand a new approach. Experience of working with educational institutions.
Experience of recruitment – attraction, selection, onboarding and induction.
Experience working with people starting out in a new career or retraining.
Experience or knowledge of the manufacturing and engineering industry.

Additional local needs This role will require a fair amount of travel between Saint John, Moncton and the wider province. There is an opportunity to work from home but there is also an office in our Marshall facility in Moncton. There will be travel between our partner college, university and partner employers. There may also be occasional travel outside New Brunswick.
