Job Title: Fitter B-Assembly
Main Function:
Assemble and install components into deployable shelters.
Assist other departments including Paint / Prep, Stock Keepers, as required.
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Duties:
Install components into deployable shelters
Assist other departments including Paint / Prep, Stock Keepers, as required.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Provide suggestions and input to resolve any unexpected issues or challenges.
Fitting of machined parts, sheet metal brackets, pipework, pumps, valves, and wiring to deployable shelters using hand and power tools.
Recording of materials used and time taken on Job Cards and on the electronic job tracking system
Ability to follow work instructions and read schematic drawings
Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime, when required.
Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Employment Requirements:
Previous experience in an assembly environment where quality and schedule compliance were key.
The ability to accurately interpret and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with various other stakeholders.
Minimum two years in a manufacturing environment.
Proven mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED
Must be eligible to meet requirements of export control and security regulations including Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearances.
