Laboratory Technician (Contract)
Location: Quintana, TX
Contract Dates: January 12, 2026 – April 17, 2026
Schedule:
7 Days On / 7 Days Off | 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off (Swing Shift)
Shifts:

Days: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Nights: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Pay Rate: $45 – $55 per hour (based on experience)
Status: Full-Time, Contract

Position Overview
The Laboratory Technician supports safe and reliable industrial operations by performing laboratory and field sampling, analysis, and reporting of hydrocarbons, gases, and water systems. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and safe facility operations across multiple industrial processing areas.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Field Analysis
-
Perform routine and non-routine sampling and laboratory analysis of hydrocarbons, gases, rainwater, and process water

Analyze incoming and outgoing products for inventory control and specification compliance

Conduct field dew point readings for troubleshooting and operational support

Maintain retained product samples per customer requirements
Instrumentation & Systems
-
Operate and maintain laboratory and online gas chromatographs
-
Maintain laboratory instruments, consumables, and calibration gases
-
Accurately document and report results using LIMS, SAP, and other laboratory systems
Compliance & Reporting
-
Report analytical results to engineering and operations stakeholders
-
Support regulatory and environmental reporting requirements
-
Participate in audits for ISO certification and regulatory agencies
-
Coordinate third-party laboratory testing and laboratory waste disposal

Write, review, and follow laboratory procedures
Safety & Collaboration
-
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and Regulatory teams
-
Participate in inspections and audits as required
-
Attend safety meetings and complete required site training
-
Follow all facility safety rules, Life Saving Rules, and environmental requirements
Qualifications
Required Experience
-
3–7 years of experience in an industrial laboratory environment
-
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating gas chromatographs for hydrocarbon analysis
-
Experience with cooling tower and water treatment sampling and analysis
-
Emergency response training
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Associate’s or Technical Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred
Skills & Knowledge

Experience using LIMS, SAP, Windows, and Microsoft Office
-
Strong understanding of laboratory safety, SDS systems, and HSE policies
-
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal technical communication

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Work in an industrial processing facility (indoor and outdoor environments)
-
Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial hazards
-
Ability to wear required PPE and respiratory protection
-
May require confined space entry and work at elevated heights
-
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout a 12-hour shift

Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs

Ability to drive between facility locations as required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
