We are currently requesting resumes for the following position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Number of Vacancies: 2
Duration: 12 Months
Hours of work: 40 Hours
Location: Burlington - Hybrid (2 Days remote).
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising groups of specialized engineers in the energy sector.
- Maintaining a project timeline and completing tasks within the allocated time frames.
- Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarification solutions throughout the project.
- Reports and Calculations (test/hydraulic/equipment sizing/stress/FMEA, etc.).
- Technical Specifications (services/components/equipment, etc.).
- Demonstrated capability to manage a knowledge-based work unit.
- Extensive experience in the development of strategies and policies for the planning of programs with significant knowledge and experience in the principles of program/project evaluation, monitoring, measurement & verification, data analysis and report writing.
- Highly developed analytical, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, with a history of successfully demonstrating collaboration, teamwork, innovation, organization, coordination and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills as evidenced by past successful performance, with demonstrated supervisory competencies including the ability to coach, hold accountable, mentor, engage and motivate staff.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing technical reports and deliverables to successful conclusion.
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of nuclear power plant design and operation as well as reactor components (specifically primary heat transport, feeder, calandria).
- Understanding of engineering change control process.
- Experience in compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Experience in piping and equipment design.
- In depth knowledge of CSA N285.0, N286.7 and N289 as well as ASME Section III Subsections NB, NC, ND, NF, ASME B31.1, B31.3 and ASME Section VIII.
- Good understanding and experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC) process.
- Past experience that supports ASME Section III Appendix XXIII Qualification for Design Specification and Overpressure Protection Report is considered an asset.
