Mechanical Installation Supervisor
Summary of the role
The Mechanical Installation Supervisor position is filled by an engineer experienced in site installation and with an eye for quality. This person will be responsible for the supervision and implementation of quality assurance at site with focus on mechanical elements. The successful candidate will have previous experience in hydropower or a similar field such as steam or gas turbines.
The following responsibilities form the core of this role:
- Implementation of quality assurance and control on site
- Supporting the site team to implement the management system
- Set up and support the reception of goods at site, material handling and interim storage
- Preparation and coordination of installation quality documentation (test plans, test procedures, WPS/PQR, welder qualification, identification and traceability of components, heat treatment etc.)
- Support IS/TA to ensure work is performed in accordance with project documentation, customer specifications, drawings and installation documentation
- Support implementation of management system during installation phase
- Coordinating and performing inspections and tests on site
- Ensure that calibrated measurement equipment is used on site
- Report and follow up on site non-conformities
- Facilitating the decision-making process for corrective actions with project team
- Preparing the site quality records
- Providing support to customer inspections, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and audits in collaboration with SM
- Implementation of the four-eyes principle for matters of quality and escalation if necessary

- 5 years of related professional experience or 2 years of experience if a relevant 4-year degree has been obtained
- Professional experience focused on supervising mechanical features
- Previous professional experience in a hydroelectric power plant or similar environment such as steam or gas turbines
- A quality-focused mindset and willingness to learn
