Job overview:
The Nuclear Safety Procedure Developer and Analyst will support the refurbishment project by aiding in the development of operational procedures, documentation, and safety analysis related to core surveillance and testing. This role has a strong operations management focus, working closely with the project team and station Operations to ensure refurbishment activities are planned, executed, and managed in alignment with safety, licensing, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.Key responsibilities:
- Interface with the station Operations, Reactor Physics, Nuclear Safety, Licensing, and Document Control Teams.
- Develop and support the development of procedures for refurbishment activities including core surveillance, testing, and restart.
- Support execution of deterministic safety analysis.
- Provide oversight from an operations management perspective to ensure procedures and analysis are practical, effective, and aligned with operational needs.
- Ensure successful project delivery on assigned tasks.
- Ensure work and deliverables meet regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate inputs, reviews, and approvals from key stakeholders.
- Ensure the schedule is established, accurate, up to date, and adhered to.
- Identify and communicate work progress to management.
- Complete all assigned project reports and ensure management is fully briefed on the status of assigned work.
- Anticipate challenges and take proactive mitigating actions to address them.
- Understand and communicate the operational impact of the work on the station’s safety and licensing basis.
Qualifications:
We are seeking a results-driven professional who has the following:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Reactor Physics, Operations, or Nuclear Safety.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Nuclear Regulations and Licensing basis.
- Experience in operations management or direct support of NPP operations strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of SNN/CNE management system and processes of the organization is preferred.
- Previous experience in a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) required (with CANDU NPP preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing.
- Ability to work well within a multi-discipline team.
- Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple assignments in parallel.
- Highly organized with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong decision-making skills, particularly when dealing with complex problems with multiple potential solutions.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
