About IESO
The Independent Electricity System Operator, or IESO, is a government agency in Ontario responsible for managing the province’s electricity system. acquiring new energy resources, and integrating renewable energy and emerging technologies into the grid. The organization works with a wide range of stakeholders, including utilities, energy companies, municipalities, and Indigenous communities, to support a reliable, sustainable, and affordable electricity system. The IESO is headquartered in Toronto and plays a key role in shaping Ontario’s energy future.
