Location: Bruce County, Ontario.
On-Site: Monday- Friday
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview
As resident Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and Health Physicist, you will be the primary safety champion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring the health and safety of personnel, the public, and the environment in compliance with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requirements and licensed requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily aspects of the radiation safety program.
- Perform radiological safety assessments & prepare radiological work permits
- Identify and resolve radiation safety issues promptly.
- Provide expert radiation safety advice & training to workers and management.
- Implement and verify corrective actions for compliance.
- Exercise authority to halt unsafe practices or non-compliant activities.
- Develop and maintain radiation safety procedures, policies, and training programs.
- Assess and report on radiation protection program performance.
- Act as signing authority for CNSC licenses.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education:
- Master’s and or a bachelor’s degree in science and or engineering (Medical Physics and/or Nuclear Engineering preferred).
- RSO training and certifications (e.g., CNSC RSO Cert. TDG Class 7).
• Experience:
- Hands-on experience in radiation safety, health physics, and regulatory compliance.
- Previous work experience as a Health Physicist is a minimum requirement
- Proven track record in radiological safety assessments, contamination control, and dose modeling.
- Experience delivering radiation protection training and managing radioactive waste shipments.
- Proven track history in communications with CNSC and other regulatory bodies
- Proven track record interfacing with clients and writing / preparing work programs
- Proven track record, supervising decontamination services.
• Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of radiation physics and safety principles.
- Familiarity with CNSC regulations and ALARA practices.
- Knowledge and Familiarity with Shielding calculations preferred

- Leadership and Mentoring Skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English; French an asset).
- Accountability and Time management skills
