Work Rotation: 2wks in/ 2wks out 11 hrs per day
Role Description / Key Responsibilities
- This position will provide key project planning / scheduling support and work closely with Construction Manager, the Construction Management Team and the Site Operations Scheduling Team
- Must have a strong understanding of work breakdown structure (WBS), critical path method (CPM) scheduling, earned value analysis, logic, and baseline management
- Must have a strong knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) to plan and schedule a project from beginning through to completion
- Must have a strong background in Workface Planning - Creating FIWP's, execution plans, ensuring contractors are managing constraints and assisting contractors in optimizing work plans to promote safer field execution. Role will be heavily involved in mentoring on-site contractors to build these skills
- Update, review and analyze schedule progress on a weekly, monthly basis, and provide relevant feedback to PM to adjust project forecast. Incorporate project change orders when required, updating project activities and baselines
- Attend, contribute and provide feedback for project meetings as required
- Work simultaneously on multiple projects, meeting critical reporting deadlines and project requirements
- Consult program management group on upcoming future schedules, manage requirements with template, process, or workflow improvements
- Assist in educating, training, and building schedule and workface planning knowledge of the user group – assisting them to understand Cameco schedule requirements, processes, and inputs
Skills / Previous Experience
- 5+ years advanced proficiency using specifically MS Project
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Project Controls, Project Management, Engineering
- 5+ years experience using Oracle Primavera P6, or other schedule software. This is desirable, though not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to build rapport with colleagues
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
- Rigorous attention to detail
