Role Summary:
The Construction Officer Level 3 acts as construction site coordinator and inspector on multiple or large civil, electrical, and/or mechanical projects to ensure the work, materials, progress, and cost meet BC Hydro expectations.
Location:
Location: Mica Creek, BC (i.e. 140km north for Revelstoke BC)
Shift: 10 days on 4 days off. Other shifts available are 4 on, 3 off, 5 on, 2 off, 8 on, 6 off, 14 on, 7 off. The shift will be as directed by the hiring manager.
Travel:
Travel time will not be payable.
Kilometers for use of vehicle will be compensated.
Provision of rental vehicle will not be available.
Remote Muster Locations: Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops or anywhere in between. (i.e. 350km radius). Other locations will be considered depending on the candidate.
Accommodation:
Mica Creek has a camp that was built in 2010. Forty (40) additional units were constructed in 2024 and 70 additional units scheduled to be completed in 2026.
Meals included with accommodation.
Experience:
Supervision or foreperson experience is required.
Electrical journeyperson preferred. Other trades will be considered depending on the candidate.
Musts:
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Conflict Resolution: Skilled in managing interpersonal and contractual disputes constructively.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and empower teams to achieve high‑quality results.
Assets:
Contract Administration: Ability to interpret, negotiate, and manage construction contracts (i.e. ensure compliance with terms and conditions).
Education and Skills
• Diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology from an Institute of Technology or relevant trades, apprenticeship courses, or equivalent
