Document Control Specialist
Location: Remote - Canada or US
Type of Employment: Contract
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage documentation submittals from customers, suppliers, and internal partners based off project deliverable requirements.
- Transmit documentation as needed to relevant parties while following internal requirements.
- Works closely with suppliers to ensure submittal due dates are adhered to.
- Review submittals for completeness, and compliance with the applicable requirements according to the procurement contract.
- Verify that all documents have been properly reviewed and approved by the appropriate parties within the scheduled timeframe.
- Prepare and issue reports related to submittal and approval status.
- Perform front line support for users who may experience issues during the documentation submission and review process.
- Create, upload, and manage records within the product lifecycle management tool.
- Ensure documents management procedures including use of proper structure and templates are adhered to by all parties.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the creation and implementation of documentation.
- Report of resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner.
- Support company initiatives – LEAN, continuous improvement, digitalization, etc.
- Ensure ongoing conformance to quality assurance program requirements, standards, and practices.
- Mentor and train team members when necessary.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Investigate problem areas and platform needs and develop recommendations for platform development programs and maintenance.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
- 5 years of experience working with suppliers, and supplier document submittals
- Experience with change, configuration, document / drawing management.
- Experience in implementing new engineering support tools and their periodic updates.
- Experience with Oracle ERP and Enovia’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool.
- Experience in a regulated industry such as: power, process, marine, medical or oil and gas but preferably nuclear under a 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Quality Program for safety-related systems, structures, and components.
- Familiarity with 10CFR 810 regulation.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, resources, and task priorities.
- Process oriented with ability to facilitate continuous performance improvement.
- Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships.
- Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers, and competitive environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative, balance, results oriented analyst and leader. Able to make reasoned, sound, and timely decisions.
