Senior Engineering Professional - Avionics
Location: Dorval, Québec, CA
About the Role:
Join our dynamic team at and take on the exciting challenge of shaping the future of avionics systems for state-of-the-art business aircraft. As a Senior Engineering Professional in Avionics, you will play a pivotal role in the development, testing, certification, production, and in-service support of avionics systems. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring safety, certification, and meeting aircraft design requirements and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage overall systems and subsystems requirements to meet safety, certification, and aircraft design objectives.
- Collaborate with system suppliers and other disciplines to ensure smooth integration of avionics systems onto the aircraft.
- Lead the timely integration of various systems, including AFCS, Communication, Navigation, Displays, Information/Maintenance & Recording, and more.
- Oversee development and certification tests, review and analyze test results, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct and support ARP4754 system and aircraft verification and validations.
- Manage, review, and approve deliverables from avionics system suppliers.
- Liaise with Certifying Authorities to achieve system certification.
- Provide support for Final Assembly Line and In-Service Aircrafts regarding design-related issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tools, processes, and software for customization and automation of aircraft-level functions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in avionics systems.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems and their integration into aircraft.
- Familiarity with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems is an asset.
- Experience with specification, design, integration, test, and certification of avionics systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as DO-178, DO-160, and ARP4754 is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills, work planning structure, and prioritization.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
