Shift: Fri-Sat-Sun, 6:00am-5:00pm
Role Summary / Purpose
The Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GEH Advanced Nuclear projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the procurement activities.
- Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GEH and customer quality requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
- Execute supplier quality surveillance program for New Reactor activities.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing
engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.
Additional Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of Nuclear customers, industry programs and competitive environments.
- Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes
- Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
- Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.
- Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work
- environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASME NQA-1 CSA N299 and CSA N285 standards and ISO-9001.
- Previous or Current Quality Lead Auditor certification.
- 2 years of experience in Nuclear quality role.
