Senior Staff Product Security Engineer (Hybrid – Mountain View, CA)
We are seeking a Senior Staff Product Security Engineer to join our Reliability, Maintenance, and Safety (RAMS) team. This team provides systems safety and reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, and aircraft cybersecurity engineering services for a groundbreaking autonomous aircraft program.
This is a hybrid role based at our Mountain View, California HQ, with 3 days per week onsite and flexibility for the remainder.
About the Role
As a Senior Staff Product Security Engineer, you will ensure cybersecurity and product security are built into all product lines. You will help protect autonomous urban air mobility systems from cyberattacks, develop and communicate security requirements, and drive secure system design.
You should have deep knowledge of aerospace systems, a systems-thinking mindset, and the ability to navigate technical uncertainty while delivering incremental technical value. Strong communication skills, technical leadership, and a collaborative mindset are key to success in this role.
What You Will Do

Serve as a Senior Product Security Engineer for a novel autonomous aircraft development program targeting the UAM market.

Perform cybersecurity analyses to identify vulnerabilities, threats, controls, and mitigations, and communicate risks across the integrated system and full product lifecycle.

Develop and enhance security requirements and security architectures to meet certification, business, and customer needs.

Support planning and execution of cybersecurity-related component and system integration verification activities.

Act as a product security engineering representative interfacing with systems engineering, design IPTs, and senior leadership.

Contribute to advancing the discipline of product security engineering, including defining new company and industry standards for autonomous aviation cybersecurity.

Apply existing industry cybersecurity frameworks and develop new frameworks to produce engineering artifacts required for certification.

Collaborate closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), RAMS safety and maintenance engineering, quality assurance, supplier management, safety management, and flight operations.
Requirements

Education: B.S. in a relevant engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience integrating complex safety/mission-critical systems, or M.S. with 7+ years in the field.

Strong knowledge of complex aircraft/aerospace systems and practical understanding of systems engineering processes (e.g., ARP 4754).

Applied understanding of assessing and communicating product security risks.

Familiarity with RTCA aviation security standards such as DO-326A, DO-355A, DO-356A.

Familiarity with the NIST cybersecurity framework.

Experience leading system and component-level cybersecurity testing and evaluations, including threat assessments, security assessments, and tabletop exercises.
