Field Construction Manager
Hourly Rate: $65 – $72/hour
Job Type: Contract (On-Site Only)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (No hybrid or remote options)
Duration: 1 Year (Extended Annually)
Location: West Winfield, NY
Overview
The Field Construction Manager (FCM) oversees all on-site construction, electromechanical, and civil activities. Reporting to the Project Manager and Construction Manager, the FCM ensures project execution aligns with safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements in accordance with customer and regulatory standards.
The FCM is responsible for coordinating daily site operations, resolving field issues, and maintaining strong communication across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all field construction and commissioning activities.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Manage subcontractors, materials, and project resources.

Coordinate with engineering, project management, and client representatives.

Support testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Conduct and document site inspections and progress updates.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent experience.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

Construction management
-
Testing and maintenance of electrical equipment

Relay protection and control systems
-
Field commissioning and troubleshooting

Electrical engineering in field environments
-
SCADA and automation systems
-
Technical Proficiency
-
Strong knowledge of substation, transmission, and distribution systems.

Experience with outage coordination, tagging procedures, and safety audits.

Familiarity with NEC, NESC, OSHA, FERC, NERC, and CIP standards.
Certifications & Other Requirements
-
Ability to pass background check per IUSA Contractor policy.

Valid Driver’s License.

First Aid / AED Certification.
-
OSHA 30-Hour Training certification.
