Position: Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON
Note: some travel to Europe possibly a week to one year at a time.
Salary: $90,000 - $105,000/ + 4 weeks vacation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multi-discipline engineering & design teams from concept to final design
- Conduct design review meetings, internally and with Clients
- Prepare equipment technical specifications
- Interpret and communicate technical details in AutoCAD drawings and Pro Engineer models
- Manage detailed technical interfaces and equipment integration, such as: o machinery (compressors, hydraulics) o large steel fabrications o civil interfaces with test facility equipment o electrics (power interfaces, MCCs, VFDs) o controls (process communications, safety systems, device controls)
- Review and respond to equipment Suppliers technical submittals
- Conduct contractor shop inspections on test facility equipment
- Supervise site installation and equipment integration
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers on site
- Coordinate equipment start-up and integrated testing
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed PEO
- Six to ten years of success in: applying knowledge of engineering principles in the design of industrial machinery and fabrications coordinating multi-discipline engineering activities (including mechanical, electrical, aerodynamics, controls, thermal)
- Experience with integrating: machinery (axial flow fans, large steel fabrications, compressors) electrics (power interfaces, MCCs, VFDs) civil interfaces
- Leadership strengths from engineering design to construction supervision
- Analytical skills, able to comprehend complex mechanical, process, electrical and controls drawings, details, and related interfaces
- Able to travel for extended periods
- Strong English oral and written communication; ability to communicate in German or French is an asset.
