Nuclear Project Manager
Location: Pickering ON, required on site
Hours: Monday to Friday 40hrs per week
Duration is 12 months initially with potential for extension
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout of nuclear refurbishment projects ranging from $50M to $1B+.
- Oversee all aspects of project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone charts, progress reports, and cost forecasts.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities as may be required to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Provide direction to the team, including (but not limited to) those working within Project Controls, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning.
- Ensure adherence to nuclear safety protocols and CNSC regulatory requirements as well as project governance processes, including gate reviews, change control, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Mentor and support junior team managers to build internal project delivery capacity.
- Actively contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge management
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) preferred.
- PMP Certification or equivalent project management training.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in capital project management, with at least 5 years in nuclear or complex infrastructure refurbishment projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale refurbishment or EPC projects within the energy sector.
- Working knowledge of nuclear power plant standards, nuclear regulatory frameworks, and QA/QC procedures.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost management platforms (e.g., EcoSys, Prism).
- Ability to work on-site at OPG Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and travel as required for stakeholder engagement

- Outage experienced / accustomed to Work Management milestones
- Internal Assessing experienced & working with inspection teams
- Other experience including: Gate Packages, RQE and Risk
- Project areas include:
- ECI (Emergency coolant injection)
- Relay/Motor starters
- Reactor Controls
- Containment / C13 Leak tests
- Moderator Pump Overhauls
