The Vice President Aerospace Program, exercises expert professional direction of a complex aerospace program with wide-ranging Company, Prime Contractor, and end-Customer impact.
DUTIES REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH JOB:
1. Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards to meet the contractual requirements of the Program; interprets and complies with all applicable company and customer regulations; |
2. Monitors and directs or performs day-to-day operations of the Program to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary and takes control of the most difficult, sensitive, or controversial elements within the Program to ensure success; |
3. Develops and monitors the budget; oversees financial well-being of the program by analyzing cost effectiveness and exercising cost controls; prepares, submits, and justifies budget enhancement requests to the Executive Vice President; |
4. Plans, organizes, administers, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate professional, technical, support and operational staff where present, through subordinate supervisors and lead personnel; |
5. Provides for the selection, training, professional development, and work evaluation of subordinate staff and makes recommendations/decisions on hiring, termination, promotion, and discipline as required; |
6. Monitors and stays abreast of technical, legal, commercial, and operational changes that affect the activities and work processes of the program; makes recommendations for and develops and carries out improvements to the program to meet changing commercial and/or requirements; |
7. Confers with and represents the Program in meetings with other Branches within the Company; fosters collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the Program, the Customer, and the Company; |
8. Performs complex administrative duties requiring oversight, attention to detail and analysis; performs strategic planning and financial analysis, including assisting in preparation of specialized program and project budgets to include staffing and operational needs; |
9. Negotiates, develops, monitors, and administers a variety of contracts and agreements; and |
10. Performs other duties as tasked by the Executive Vice President/President.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
EDUCATION: |
|
Graduate of a College or University program, preferably in the field of Aviation and/or Aerospace, with a minimum fifteen years of leadership experience within or related to the Program assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above. |
|
EXPERIENCE: |
Fifteen years of experience in a Civilian or Military Aerospace /Manufacturing environment with proven Program Management responsibilities. Relevant experience should include significant aspects of P&L responsibility, commercial management and contracts, and negotiation in complex technical/commercial/labor environments. |

KNOWLEDGE: |
|
|
3. Principles and practices of lean manufacturing. 4. Principles and practices of “just in time” logistics; and |
|
|
PERSONALITY TRAITS: |
Superb communication and leadership skills and a proven ability in managing a complex and diverse Program in the aerospace field. Autonomous, decisive, methodical, and energetic with a multi-faceted ability to influence. |
