POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the President, the VP, Operations plays a critical role in our organization’s continued growth and success. The position brings P&L responsibilities of our Services revenue stream and strategic oversight of three critical departments: Client Services, Production and Quality Assurance (QA). The VP of Operations drives operational excellence while exceeding client expectations and ensuring product quality and compliance.
The midterm priorities are delivery of production to meet demand, the management of supply chain including current out-sourced manufacturing and selection and stand-up of replacement out-source manufacturing.
This position is to be located in-office in Kelowna, BC.
A typical day includes:
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the operational strategy, set goals, monitor progress and make data driven decisions to achieve company objectives
• Ensure company’s systems, processes and people are cohesively aligned to ensure profitability of the Company’s Services revenue
• Provide strategic direction on all quality, production and client initiatives and activities
• Lead and empower a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, address client needs, and ensure client satisfaction remains a top priority
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, partners, and subcontractors to ensure business continuity and to identify new business opportunities
• Establish performance metrics to measure and improve operational performance, client satisfaction and product quality
• Identify and mitigate operational risks and challenges to maintain business continuity and customer trust
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational goals
• Ensure all operational activities adhere to industry-specific regulatory compliance requirements and the operating parameters of the business
• Drive for innovation and creativity to steer new initiatives in operations by exploring new technologies, materials and manufacturing processes
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Previous P&L responsibility of a high-tech business unit/department; within Engineering or Aviation
• Proven in-depth experience in senior leadership roles overseeing Client Services, Production and QA in a relevant industry
• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Strong understanding of industry regulations, quality standards, and client service best practices
• Exceptional executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills
