Our Fremont, CA facility is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technology, and we are seeking a skilled and motivated Second-Shift Aircraft Systems Test Engineer to join our team.
Role Overview:
As a Second-Shift Aircraft Systems Test Engineer, you will be a vital part of our Aircraft IPT. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct, monitor, and document tests on our representative aircraft test rig. You will work closely with test rig engineers, maintenance teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful and safe execution of test procedures. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate data recording.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely execute and monitor test procedures on aircraft test rigs.
- Accurately record and document test data.
- Identify and troubleshoot errors in test procedures, and correct issues as needed.
- Assist in resolving any test rig issues or stalled executions.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive end-of-shift reports to the first-shift team and management.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating high levels of self-sufficiency.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in test execution, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Proven proficiency in conducting tests on aircraft or integrated test rigs, with strong understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor errors.
- Excellent technical writing skills for documenting test results and preparing shift reports.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with aircraft systems and avionics.
- Familiarity with test automation tools and software.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in aircraft or similar testing environments.
