Responsibilities:
We require an experienced Commissioning Technician to join our team in commissioning a Light Rail project. This is anticipated to be a 1-year contract role. The Commissioning Technician will assist the Commissioning Manager in the testing of completed Light Rail Vehicles (LRV), be responsible for providing our customer with technical support, write test procedures, troubleshoot and/or repair mechanical, electrical and electronic problems. The role will also involve the documentation of work performed and tracking the progress of the project. Travel and long working hours may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work and commission rail vehicles at the customer's site to 100% of the technical specification and to the customer's satisfaction.
* Set up, test, troubleshoot and repair, perform duties as outlined by Commissioning Manager as necessary.
* Document work performed, results discovered and track progress of project, including administration of warranty items.
* Communicate to Lead personnel findings and solutions to problems identified on the vehicle.
* Unload, level, static tests and commission rail vehicles as needed.
* Write test procedures, testing rail vehicles, troubleshoot and/or repair, mechanical, electrical or electronic problems.
* Check and make necessary adjustments prior to powering LRV.
* Perform static and dynamic testing.
* Checking mechanical, electrical and performance aspects of the LRV.
* Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, and technical documents.
* Install engineering wiring changes.
Qualifications:
* The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering coupled with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
* Experience in basic repair of electrical or mechanical equipment, blueprint and circuit diagram reading and a good knowledge of MS office applications.
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills are required.
