Hardware Engineering Manager
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP, Engineering, the Hardware Engineering Manager provides operational leadership to a multidisciplinary group of engineers within the electronics design team, supporting the development and completion of hardware projects.
A typical day includes:
● Provide technical guidance, assistance, and work direction to direct reports, including coaching and mentoring
● Manage staffing resources against project needs
● Work closely with Embedded Software, Enterprise Software, Test, DAO, Program Management and Sales to support strategic goals set forth by Senior leadership, providing input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility
● Engage and support contractors, vendors and key customers
● Creation (design, development, prototyping and debugging) of electronic designs while mindful of cost, quality and production constraints
●Conduct root-cause analysis and fixes for critical product and system failures
● Documentation and implementation of the design process (standards, best practices, and procedures) for electrical and mechanical products
● Creation of required product documentation and certification
● Support the Quality Management System as applicable to the Engineering department
● Collaborate closely with the Software Engineering Manager as it relates to the AS9100 system

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with 10 years of relevant industry experience
● 5+ years of management experience with a focus on development and coaching
