Staff Certification Engineer, Structures (Full-Time, Remote – US)
We are seeking a Senior/Staff Certification Engineer (Structures) to join our Certification team. The mission of this role is to help define a path to build and certify the first fully autonomous, all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment.
This position is remote within the US (travel as needed).
About the Role
As a Staff Certification Engineer (Structures), you will support Type Certification, continued airworthiness, and sustaining engineering efforts. You’ll develop and implement cross-functional processes across design, production, and certification.
We are seeking highly knowledgeable, proactive engineers with hands-on experience developing certifiable aircraft from concept through Type and Production Certification. Strong communication and leadership skills are critical, along with expertise in aircraft structural certification and composite materials.
What You Will Do

Coordinate technical meetings with the FAA Policy and Certification Branch Office.

Lead compliance documentation review prior to FAA submittal.

Develop and coordinate means and methods of compliance for composite material qualification and aircraft structure.

Support development of supplier oversight and evaluation processes and procedures.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.

12+ years of experience working on aircraft Type Certification programs from concept to issuance of Type, Airworthiness, and Production Certificates.

Working knowledge in at least one of the following: 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, or 29.

Experience conceptualizing, authoring, and executing organizational-level processes and work instructions.

Proven experience facilitating communication between applicants and the FAA on novel technologies and processes.

Technical experience in designing, prototyping, testing, and certifying composite material systems and aircraft structures.

Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 (Amendment 64) Performance-Based Rules.
Preferred/Desired Skills
-
Experience with Polarian or equivalent requirements management tools.

Experience with TeamCenter or equivalent PLM.

Familiarity with structured Project Management environments.

Understanding of Configuration Management (CM) principles and working standards.

Knowledge of the Type Certificate conformity process, including testing, inspections, and documentation to verify compliance activities.
