Design Engineer:

Globotech is currently seeking a Design Engineer to support on going projects at Pickering, Ontario location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare engineering designs from conceptual design, through tender to construction
• Work with team members in determining viable solutions for design issues.
• Work to and meet project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings
 

  Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
• Experience in reading & interpreting Mechanical General Arrangement drawings, flow diagrams, piping, and flowsheets, etc.
• Experience with mechanical analysis software and design tools, computer knowledgeable.
• Hands on experience with stress analysis and preparation of design calculations.
• Familiarity with Secondary Side, Turbine/Generator, Cooling water systems/components and piping of CANDU plant is considered an asset.
• Experience in design and preparing Engineering Changes (ECC) is preferred.
• Detail oriented, can work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations.

  Additional Information:
• Job located is in Atkin office in Mississauga with requirement to visit on site at Pickering – Hybrid working from home is also acceptable.
• 40 - 60 Hour Work week with possible shift work depending on Project Needs (Able to support Morning, Day, and Evening Shift)
• Start Date: Depending on OPG Security Clearance

  Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Completion of a 4-year University degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
• Five (5) to Eight (8) years of Design Engineering experience
• Two (2) to Three (3) years in Nuclear is considered an asset
• Must be registered or eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) within the Province of Ontario
• OPG MTL Qualification is considered an asset
