Location: Hybrid – Edmonds, Burnaby
Contract Duration: 12 months
Hours: 7.5 hours/day | Estimated 261 workdays
Travel: May be required
Rate: INC: $105.78/hr | T4: $87.42/hr
Summary
Lead and manage complex telecom engineering projects involving scope, schedule, and cost oversight. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, third-party engineering work, and manage technical risks to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead engineering activities for medium to high complexity projects across the full lifecycle—from conceptual design to commissioning.

Oversee design deliverables, technical documentation, and contractor work.

Resolve complex technical and field issues, and propose safe, innovative engineering solutions.

Define project scope, align design criteria, and track progress against safety, quality, budget, and timeline objectives.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal technical standards.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably in power systems, controls, or telecom).

Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

Minimum 10 years of experience in telecom systems, transmission systems, or industrial control networks.

Minimum 4 years leading multi-discipline design teams.

Strong knowledge of telecom components (microwave, fiber optic, power line carrier, antennas, battery banks, remote sites, etc.).

Proficient with CAD, design/analysis software, and MS Office tools.
Desired Experience

Electrical utility or large infrastructure project experience.

Understanding of project management principles and cross-discipline coordination.

Familiarity with protection and control systems is an asset.

Experience managing external engineering deliverables.

Site experience on large construction projects is a plus.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
