Training Content Development Specialist
Position: Training Content Development Specialist X2
Location: McArthur River Operations, Saskatchewan (fly in/fly out camp)
Days/Hours: 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out, 11 hours per day OR Monday to Thursday, 11 hours per day Possibility for remote work schedule: 40% site/60% work from home (Please provide preference for shifts/rotation)
Duration: 6 months to March 2022
Start Date: October, 2021
Resumes due by End of Day September 30th.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for revising existing training material to meet the systematic approach to training (SAT) methodology
- Developing training material and organize learning activities for new equipment/areas
- Ability to learn quickly, familiarize themselves with different areas of training and to gain specific knowledge from the subject matter experts (SME) of the work areas
- Create, analyse, and evaluate training courses while continually improving and looking for opportunities to gain efficiencies in the training program, focussing on creating on-line formats
- Revise existing training material by consulting with subject matter experts and ensuring all aspects of the systematic approach to training are met
- Optimize training material where possible to ensure all training needs are met in the most efficient manner
- Recommend the best educational method for a particular training subject including on-the-job training, classroom theoretical training, and/or e-learning courses
- If significant changes are made to any particular course content, develop a small pilot to test the new training methodologies and gain trainer and trainee feedback
- Working within a Sharepoint platform to update excel, powerpoint, and word documents.
- Be familiar with the systematic approach to training (SAT) process and have direct experience within a previous training capacity
- Work competently in MS Teams, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Excel and Microsoft 365 Be a collaborative team player who is effective at building excellent relationships
Skills & Experience Required:
- BSc in Education or Diploma in Adult Basic Education or relevant field
- Proven work experience as a Training Consultant, Training Specialist, Training Coordinator, Training Content Developer or similar role.
- 4-7 years of work experience
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid organizational skills
- Adaptable and Flexible
Assets:
- Experience using the ADDIE (Analysis Development Design Implement Evaluate) training model
- Previous Cameco experience
